Drafting a will is an intricate process and the Wills Act provides requirements for a valid will. The requirements are as follows:
1. The testator must be 16 years or older 2. The will must be in writing 3. The testator must sign at the end of the will. If the will is more than one page, the testator must also sign every other page 4. The testator must sign the will in the presence of 2 competent witnesses (both signing at the same time) 5. A beneficiary or executor should not sign as a witness to the will
